Life Plan

Create a Life Plan

Whether or not you are here because you are reading our NEW Best-Selling book, “Mastery, the Art of Living on Purpose” (and are completing the homework from chapter 6, “Vision and Purpose”) - or you are simply curious about what a Life Plan is and how to create one of your own - WELCOME & thank you for being here!

Why Have a Life Plan?

Think of a life plan as a compass, yet one that you have personally programmed with specific intentions and outcomes – that not only keep you aligned with your vision and your purpose but focused and heading in the right direction. Thereby keeping you from wasting time and energy.

A life plan will also serve you if you:

  • Struggle With Setting Goals or Knowing Which Ones Are Most Important.
  • Struggle With Not Knowing Which Opportunities to Embrace or Ignore.
  • Feel Overwhelmed When Attempting to Organize Your Daily Outcomes.
  • Don’t Feel Like You Have Control in Making Decisions; Too Often, Saying Yes When You Should Be Saying No (a Form of Fomo, Fear of Missing Out).
  • Achieve Your Goals, Yet Still Feel Unfulfilled or Like Something is Missing.

The good news is that you probably already have the makings of a life plan already in place!

What Are the Components of a Life Plan?

  • 1 Your Ultimate Purpose
  • 2 Your Ultimate Vision
  • 3 Values
  • 4 Specific Area in Life to Focus on, and Within Each Area, Identify:
    • Identity Identifiers
    • Purpose
    • Short Term Goal
    • Long Term Goal
    • Daily Rituals
    • Personal Declaration

How Do I Create a Life Plan?

Get Inspired!

Get into a creative space (rather than a strong-willed state). Do not write out your life plan from an energy of urgency and angst; instead, get centered and excited. Allow your intention to inspire you by first listening to motivational music, meditating, or deep breathing - while envisioning yourself achieving everything you want to accomplish!

With love and desire in your heart, put a smile on your face, and answer the following questions:

  • What Gives My Life Meaning?
  • When Looking Back on My Life, How Do I Want to Be Remembered?
  • What is My Calling? (Either Go With Your Instinct or Give It More Thought; Whatever Works for You)
  • What Brings Me Happiness?
  • What is the Legacy I Want to Leave?
  • What Inspires Me?
  • What Makes Me Feel Fulfilled?
  • What Are the Most Important Areas of My Life?
(Examples: Health, Body, Finances, Career, Intimate Relationships, Friendships, Hobbies)

Tip: Allow the answers to flow out of you. Do not hold back an answer because you’re not sure if it’s your ultimate answer or if it’s the ‘right’ answer. Enjoy this process. Stay in a creative flow!

Living Your Life Plan!

This IS where you align your mindset with your vision and then marry it to your purpose and goals.

Priorities: Create them and put them in writing!

Create the actions needed to achieve your short-term/long-term goal.

Put it where you can look at it every day – and then do so!

Allow yourself to feel inspired by your progress, and then update it as you achieve your goals.

Remember, this is a “living” document, so as you grow, ask yourself, “What’s next?”

Acknowledge your personal progress, yet know that true happiness is a function of making a difference in the lives of others, so remember to celebrate the impact you are having beyond yourself as well!

Life Plan Examples

Michael A. Nitti

Ultimate Vision: To live intentionally and gratefully, always knowing that my life is a creation and that I have full power over what I say and how I am. To live, love, and interact with everyone else from the highest level of consciousness and to assume full responsibility for my every action. To awaken each day fully associated with the privilege of living my life in service to others, and to seek out every opportunity to do so. To inspire, empower, cause great laughter, and lead others beyond their fears by continually stepping beyond mine. To raise the torch as high as possible - knowing that it is no brief candle - and to hand it off to as many as possible before I die!

Ultimate Purpose: To have more than my share of fun by living as if I were 32 for the rest of my life! To live freely, outrageously, and fully connected to my masculine core. To assume full responsibility for my personal transformation, knowing that it is a gift - and to share that gift with the intention of inspiring others to experience themselves as whole, complete, and magnificent. To love first, listen second, speak third - and always lead and speak from my vision! To be joyous, loving, & grateful and to fall into bed each night, having inspired as many lives as possible before loving my wife to sleep!

Erica Nitti Becker

Ultimate Vision: To look back on a life that was fully aligned, fully present, and one of inspired action. To know that no matter how afraid I was, I took at least one step. To be grateful every day, especially for the opportunity to have been a part of someone’s life. To know that I helped make the lives of others more conscious and fulfilling, and that I inspired them to be more energized in the pursuit of their dreams. To live abundantly, freely, and passionately — every single day!

Ultimate Purpose: To inspire others to live their best lives by disregarding their mind, telling them they can’t or that the whole world is against them. To connect people to their inherent certainty, knowing that the past doesn’t matter—and it will never serve them to worry about the future. To awaken their true desire for the purpose of turning it into reality. To help others pay more attention to the good in their lives, knowing that the bad is only as bad as they allow it to be—and that their inner strength is stronger than they ever knew.

To be a bright light for everyone in my life—a light that helps them find their own light, that they will then be empowered to shine on everyone else.
